A. Getting Started
- Make sure you know your user ID. You should have received an Account Access Notification letter informing you of it. It takes the form of your Student ID number + first letter of your surname, e.g. 0405061p
- Change your initial password. The first time you log in you will need to use your default password, provided in your Account Access Notification letter. You should change your password as soon as possible to something only you know. Change it here.
- Be prepared. Decide what courses you want to do (see the UG Course Catalogue or instruction from your faculty) and make a note of the course codes. If you are on a set curriculum please follow the instruction from your Faculty/School/Department. Ensure you have information ready on your method of funding. If you have applied to Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) or the Student Loans Company (SLC), have your reference numbers ready.
B. Registration
- Log into WebSURF and pre-register for the coming session.
- Refer to the instructions your Faculty/School/Department have provided to check if you are required to meet with your adviser of studies ahead of completing registration.
- Complete your registration in person* at the University as explained at (http://www.gla.ac.uk/registry/students). You must bring your Account Access Notification letter with you as a means of identification. Please Note: you will not be allowed to proceed to full registration unless you have pre-registered on-line and your adviser of studies or faculty administrator has approved your record.
C. What Next?
- Continue to use WebSURF to check and update your records throughout the year. Your exam results will be available in WebSURF as soon as they are published.
